At Erotica, Mr. Kinnk and I were lucky enough to get our mitts on one of the new We-Vibe 4. With our We-Vibe 2 still getting regular use, we were eager to see what advances two iterations had brought.
This new and improved version features a remote control, a very neat and discreet charging unit and several new design features which make it easier and more pleasurable to use.
All of the We-Vibe couples’ vibrators are designed to be worn whilst having sex, so as well as the woman feeling direct clitoral and G-spot stimulation, the penetrating partner can also feel the vibrations on the shaft of his penis.
New redesign
The We-Vibe 4 has been redesigned with a curved narrow C shape, and is stiffer than the We-Vibe 2, which reduces any annoying shifting about during sex. The We-Vibe 4 is also slightly smaller in size than the We-Vibe 2 which hugs the woman’s body. The vibrating areas of the We-Vibe 4 remain a similar size however to the We-Vibe 2.
Both the We-Vibe 4 and the We-Vibe 2 are made from medical-grade silicone, but the We-Vibe 4 is made from a smoother and less ‘grippy’ silicone, which causes less drag when used and increases comfort. This silicone has a less shiny and more matt appearance in comparison to our We-Vibe 2. Both vibrators continue to be washable in plain soap and water, or a sex toy cleaner. Both toys have a two-hour battery life on one charge.
In addition, the We-Vibe 4 is completely waterproof, allowing it to be used in the bath or shower, (or perhaps swimming pool if you are lucky enough to have one). The We-Vibe 2 is splash proof, so this improvement in waterproofing of course increases its versatility in play.
My final conclusion of the We-Vibe 4
After a lot of use, many of the new improvements have really enhanced the use of the We-Vibe 4. Firstly, turning it on is less fiddly, with the button on the top rather than at the end of the vibe. The 6 modes can also be altered in intensity with the remote control, which creates greater versatility. Unlike the We-Vibe 2, the We-Vibe 4 remembers your last setting which is useful and saves time if you just want to quickly ‘get into action.’ The remote control is also a nice touch, allowing control without having to remove the vibe to alter the settings, although when it was in use, we found the range on the remote control was not that great. This created some hilarity in Mr. Kinnk trying to point the zapper very close to my crotch in order to effect the desired change.
Like the previous versions, the We-Vibe 4 is also ideal for solo play. Being completely waterproof allowed for greater possibilities for play. We both liked the improved design, finding that it stayed put better and gave me much better direct clitoral stimulation. The new charging unit was a big improvement on the We-Vibe 2’s simple lead and is discreet enough to leave out on the side. Mr. Kinnk felt the smoother silicone was more comfortable for him on initial penetration and enhanced his enjoyment. Position-wise, missionary position or woman on top seemed for us the most effective positions to use the We-Vibe 4 in, with ‘doggy’ position lacking the pressure needed to keep the We-Vibe 4 in position over my clitoris effectively. From Mr. Kinnk’s perspective, he was very happy with the extra stimulation it provided although found the ‘doggy’ position slightly more awkward to penetrate with the We-Vibe 4 in position. All in all, though, we were very happy with this, and will continue to use it regularly until the We-Vibe 5 comes out!
